Ministries

Our philosophy of ministry is to help people learn to know God intimately through their personal communion with Him; to join a community of fellow sojourners in shaping a community reflective of His nature; and to send each member back out into a world desperate for His redemptive and restorative life. We are committed to an intimate, nimble, authentic, effective approach to the ministry that God has called us to. Our success is measured by our carefully discerning God’s will for our church and then our consistency in obedience to that direction.

Our goal as a church is to become the kind of community that will enable you to freely…

Discover God’s persistent unconditional love for you. Jesus loves us where we are and places us in community for these purposes (John 3:16; John 8:11).

Discover the reality of your brokenness and captivity and to find the healing power of Christ in your journey toward wholeness and holiness (Isaiah 61:1; Romans 8:29).

Develop true narratives as to the ways and reality of God and to open yourself to the fullness of Christ (Galatians 4:19; Jeremiah 9:23-24; Psalms 103:7)

Pursue God’s plan for your life in light of establishing His kingdom on earth. The whole family of God benefits when each part fulfills its particular role in that endeavor (Matthew 6:10; Jeremiah 29:11; 1 Corinthians 12:7).

Our ministry includes building relationships with one another and with God through teaching, training and mentoring the different age groups and genders in our community. We have no set programs, but develop activities as the need arises. We make the mentoring of our youth a consistent part of our work as a community and have worked hard at making passage events a high priority in our life together. The passing on of our Christian heritage is a consistent mandate that we live out.

We provide regular opportunities for the adults in our community to be part of a spiritual forming small group as well as regular spiritual journey retreats at St. Walburga Abbey. We take the deepening of our life in Christ seriously as it is the paradigm for the normal Christian life.
